Just a small heads up since you said you've been doing research. As DagnyT said, there have been many conversations here on the Arts Forum about film school. There are many knowledgeable posters here at CC who are happy to share. However, many hope that those who are new to the forum will do their research HERE before starting a new thread that asks the same question that many previous newbies have asked. Look near the top of the page for the thin navy blue line that's underneath the College Confidential banner. You will see the word Search. Click on it and go to advanced search. Type in the words "film school" then tell the search engine to search in the Arts Forum. You should get many, many hits.

For undergrad, I'd consider LMU in Los Angeles, UCLA and your choices of NYU and USC. I've heard LMU will give you more opportunities to make a film than SC as ug.

I know a handful of 'film' kids and they go to Emerson, which supposedly has a good film program.

Forgot about Emerson. I met a group from there working the American Pavillion at Cannes Film Festival. That's a great opportunity and they seemed to be having a good time.
