Hello everyone,
I'm an international student in a private college here in the US. I'm on my second year.I'm very interested on the Radio tv film program of both San jose state university and CSUF., but i have little knowlodge about which one has better connections and faculty.I would like some feedback on both school if possible. USC is my dream school, but it's a long reach.So is Chapman University a good alternative for those who can't get into USC?
Another question. What do you guys know about the business program with a concentration in Entertainment offered by CSUF and USC?That's something else i'm interested in.
I'm a pretty good student my lowest grade was a B+ and 26 on the act.

Have you read the individual threads about each school? Go to "alphabetical list of colleges", hit "C" and read about Chapman, for example! Or USC..
Friendly tip: Chapman is a rising star, with its state-of-the-art brand new Knott Studios building just opened 2 years ago. It's very attractive to students across the country because of the technology, small classes and private school attention in a university of just 5,000 students total.

So don't take Chapman for granted, relative to USC admittance. Both are hard to get into, although your grades are fine. It's the talent they'll look at, since your grades are fine. I don't know about ACT scores but Chapman's mean SAT is around l850 (which divided by 3 comes to 617 per test).

I think at SJSU and CSUF i won't have any problem being accepted. Chapman might be a decent shot. I know that as far as my stats goes it's pretty strong for an international student. Do you recomend any other schools that i haven't mentioned?

I don't know if you're interested in looking at schools in the eastern states, but these come to mind: Ithaca College (upstate rural NY), Emerson College (Boston).

Midwest: On these threads I've read a lot of excitement about tv/commujnications in something called Mizzou, is that U of Missouri, not sure..

New program at Ball State in Indiana, just heavily funded by David Letterman (the tv late-night comedian/host) because that's his alma mater. The building looks amazing. Sometimes a brand new program such as this gives you a wide open field. I just heard of it in a post by Roger Dooley, top administrator/moderater for all of CC! So I guess it's a hot tip.

Could you tell me more about Chapman please?in therms of academics, social life, students(snobs, friendly, helpfull,etc), location, faculty.

As far as academics and faculty at Chapman, I think the website will tell you what you want to know. We went to Preview Day there a few weeks ago. The area is beautiful and it was about 20 minutes from the beach, so that was nice. Social life is supposedly a bit slower than at some schools since it is a smaller school (about 5,000 students) in a suburban location. Greek life is big there.

I don't think you can generalize about the students at any school. There is always a mix of snobs, friendly, etc.

The film school was pretty amazing.
