Newbie needs help - quarters and semesters?

Hi. I am trying to get some information. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to art schools and art departemnts but I am trying to become educated as my high school daughter has a love for photography. I posted a thread a few days ago but received no replies so I am going to break down into more specific quaestions. I appreciate your help.

We visited the Art Institure of Atlanta over the weekend - attended the open house. I was surprised to learn that they are on a quarter system rather than semester. Is there anything we need to consider about this? I am assuming this means her credits would not transfer?

Again, thanks for your help. I am going to ask a few more questions in separate threads.

SCAD has a quarter system too.

did minor research for you:

Lovell acknowledged that adjusting to the pace of SCAD’s academic quarter system from the semester system at ACA has been the greatest challenge of the transition process. “We went from a three-day teaching schedule to a four-day teaching schedule, and from teaching six courses to 12 courses throughout the academic year,” he explained. “So the amount of course preparation has doubled from [what was required at] ACA.”

The biggest problem I've run into is summer programs, internships, jobs, etc. starting before the spring quarter ends.
