Please help me!! I just got accepted (with a scholarship too) to these three colleges. I also got accepted to SCAD and CCS, but not with a great scholarship. So I am considering these three. My plan is to start in one of these three schools and do my foundation year there, and after that I want to transfer to a college like CalArts, RISD, or MICA to study Film and TV (or a related major).

What I mean is I'm just going to stay one year there. So I want the best of these three in foundations and liberal arts. But I think the most important factor for now is the city. I like an active nightlife, with a lot of people. I want a beautiful city. I don't know much about cities in the USA, since I'm from Colombia. Please tell me which city should I choose! (Cleveland, Kansas City, or Memphis?)

The only one I know anything about is KCAI. I have heard their foundation program is unique in that you have one teacher for all of your foundation year. I guess this could be good or bad depending on who that teacher is. I don't really know about their liberal arts program. I found their campus to be extremely attractive and their admissions staff to be helpful and friendly. It was a true campus unlike some smaller art schools which have classes located all in one building. I happen to like KC and find it to be an extremely attractive city, but I will admit there were some security warnings on campus so there might be a bad neighborhood bordering part of the campus.

We are from Kansas City. I know about KCAI. When I was cruising my daughter around on her “junior year tour” of many schools, we received many positive comments about KCAI. The Art teachers ask why my D wasn't applying to KCAI. They (more than 3) told her it was a very good school and well respected among teaching artists. These were all universities (in Ohio and other states). She never wanted to stay at home for school so for her this was not an option. However, she did take a portfolio class from the school and her professors took an interest in her and guided her toward a school where she is now happily attending. Which I thought was pretty great and very generous! (Her high school teachers were of no help in the college process.} When we were looking at the University Art programs, they all seemed to be an after thought. So she never applied to a University. KCAI is in a wonderful part of town by the Museum and the Plaza. {You always should be careful in any city and I think this school takes the safety of their students very seriously, as they should} The University of Missouri is right by the Art school too, so you have other students and can attend programs. I think this is great for synergy. I also attended a few lectures where they brought other professors and artist in town for the students and interested community people. They just opened a new painting building. One of my friends has a son who attend the school and his artwork with other students, was touring to Yale’s Art school. Also, the downtown crossroads district is not far away. The first Friday of every month, KC has art openings called "First Friday". It’s a part atmosphere that the whole area likes to attend. Regarding KCAI, I think it is a great school and they give large scholarships.
