Not unless "this student" is applying to some terrible schools. The student's combined SAT score is a 1030, which is just barely above average and on some tests could be below average. Not only that, but unless "this student" goes to one of the best high schools in a country a 3.6 GPA will not cut it.
I went to Boston Latin, got a 3.94 GPA, 2350 SAT score (1580 SAT Combined 1600), took 5 AP courses, 3 Honors classes, and did a ton of EC’s, but I was only offered a ½ tuition scholarship from BC.
Apply anyway though you never know what happens behind “closed doors” and you just might get something! Good Luck!
