Auburn Community?

I was wondering what the community surrounding Auburn is like, since I'm applying there next year and I haven't visited yet. My mom was worried that it most be all low-income minorities in a high-crime neighborhood. (No, we're not racists.) Is the school located in a nice area? How are the students?

I just got back from Auburn and the town was really nice. The city of Auburn is really small, as far as I could tell, Auburn was in a nice part of town. The students were extremely friendly and helpful. We approached numerous people and they told us about their experiences at Auburn.
I hope this helps!

You couldn't be more wrong about Auburn! I live here! It is not a really small city....its not huge but its not very small its medium sized. and you have to get to know it to realize how many "rich" and i do mean "rich people" that live here. it is a good size and the crime rate is very low... Opelika (Auburn's sister city, they can practically be one) is not as safe as Auburn or whatever but its still very safe. the whole city is catered around the university students and the students are nice...it just depends on who you hang with... you'll probably love it if you like traditional campuses but personally i'm going to UAB.
