Navarre1 - Congratulations on the scholarship. I'm sure if your daughter decides to attend Auburn, she will enjoy her college experience and succeed in her endeavors. War Eagle!

I got my acceptance letter from Auburn a few weeks ago...extremely excited. I haven't been down to visit yet, but my parents and I are driving from Annapolis, Maryland after Thanksgiving. I got acceptance letter from Coastal Carolina and East Carolina and have a few others to hear back from. What are some good things to know about Auburn so I can make a discission?

I got my Presidential Scholarship award letter today! Wooh!
Navarre1, will you daughter be attending Presidential Scholars day? I'm debating since I'll be up at Auburn for the AU-AL game

My daughter received her Presidential Scholarship award on Saturday. It was a nice certificate. She won't be attending the Presidential Scholars' Day this month as it is a long drive from our home and she visited the campus during a War Eagle Day in the spring. She is hoping to go to a scholarship weekend after the New Year; either for NMF or Elite consideration. Keeping our fingers crossed. Congratulations on all of your offers!

I don't know when the Presidential Scholars Day is. We are going to visit Auburn one more time before making a final decision, but haven't set a date yet.

I thought the certificate was a really neat gesture. I was just expecting a letter, not a little certificate deal.
The day was listed at the bottom of the letter...I believe it's November 16th.
Congrats to everyone!

OK..I think we got a different letter than you, as we have no date listed. My daughter received a letter and award based on being a National Hispanic Scholar. We think come Feb she will also be named a NMF, but I think yall receive the letter based on SAT/ACT and grades. My daughter has the grades, but only a 31ACT and and 1390/2120 SAT..Award came in a blue folder with certificate, but letter spoke of being a National Hispanic Scholar and offered the scholarship..Maybe I need to look at the letter closer when I get home.

What Navarre1 says makes sense. Auburn sent my daughter a letter after the release of NMSF names about the NMF scholarship, but it was only a notification letter, not an award certificate. They can't award it until one actually becomes a NMF. The Presidential isn't dependent on NMF status, but strictly test scores and GPA so if you have been accepted to the school and meet that criteria you can be awarded that now. Those who will also become a NMF won't get their offer until the winners are notified and, of course, to receive it they have to name Auburn as their first choice of schools with National Merit.

She actually did receive the award certificate but it's due to her being a National Hispanic Scholar. Anyway, we won't be able to make it over to Auburn till sometime in Jan.

I'm confusing everyone. LOL. My daughters also says Academic Presidential Scholarship, but she was awarded the scholarship because of being a National Hispanic Scholar, not SAT/ACT.
