Current students-Real scoop on getting an on-campus dorm after freshmen year

My daughter is seriously considering attending Auburn next year. Part of her scholarship will include money for an on-campus dorm. This part of the scholarship is over if she moves off-campus. Living on-campus is not a problem for her and she plans to be in the honors dorm but what are the "real" odds that she will be able to stay in the dorms all four years?

Odds are great that she'll be able to stay in the dorms. Auburn gives first priority to returning residents. Students who wish to stay in the same room from year to year have their housing apps processed first. Then come current residents who want a different room or dorm. Then new residents (including incoming freshman). This was true a few years ago, so you might want to check to make sure it still applies.

This sounds really good. She really fell in love with Auburn and I don't blame her as I also did from our visit. I went ahead and put down her tuition and housing deposits because I wanted to make sure she had first dibs on housing in the new honors dorm and the more I learn the more it looks like I won't have to lose my deposit to another school. Thanks for the reply!

Last your year NMF got to choose housing first. However, I called housing and they haven't decieded how they are going to deal with those students this year.
