BWMT --

Do you know about how many will be auditioning on Saturday, and can you talk a little about the structure of the day, i.e., dance audition first, where and how you warm up vocally, etc.
Thanks.

Im not quite certain on the number, but it should be between 30-40 people I'm assuming. The audition lasts the whole day. A lot of your time will be for you to prepare and get ready for your acting/singing portion in front of Vicky. These auditions take place throughout the day along with your keyboard placement exams (which have no weight on your acceptance). At 12 there is a break where all the auditioners and students in the program meet to attend a masterclass. This is to show you what the program is like and to show you how we work. Finally after all the auditioners have gone, everyone gets together for the dance call. At the begining of the day you will be assigned a current student who will help lead you around and answer any questions you have. There are many available practice rooms for you to warm up in. Good luck!

PS. - If anyone wants to say hello I'll be at the masterclass. I'll be wearing a light blue top with brown pants (my audition outfit) and I have red hair. I'd love to meet some of you and answer any other questions you have.

~Tim

Hey kyle style.......danimal88 posted a great account of his B-W audition experience on the main MT forum in the Reporting on how the auditions went, what to expect at individual schools... thread.

This link should take you right to it.

From what I've heard. From the past audition, 42 auditioned (we had to deny 8 from the audition and choose a different time) and only 4 were accepted. It seems like were looking for a little smaller of a class the the past two years. Good luck to rest auditioning later!

PS - There's still the waitlist, and everyclass has a least one person get in from that list.

BWMT - I'm a little confused - are you saying that there were people there with scheduled auditions who were turned away? Or, did they not have scheduled audition times, or missed their times or something??

Sorry I worded that badly. Before the audition even happened, there were 8 people who tried to sign up for the Nov date but we had to turn them down since we were already passed capacity.

Are you saying that 4 people were accepted from the November 11th audition?

BWM -- Do you know if notifications have gone out to those who were accepted? Or if not, when they will go out?

Timing Question

Based on past auditions at B-W, what would be the recommended time to schedule a flight out at? (auditioning Jan 20)

My choices are limited but it looks like we might be able to catch a 6pm flight home and not have to stay another night. Any thoughts on what time the day will end and if there is enough time to make a 6pm flight?????

Mikksmom, in a letter BW Conservatory Admissions sent to me (Re: my scheduled audition for 1/27/07) it says

"Note that music theatre students should expect to stay until 5:30, as the dance call is late in the afternoon."

Hope this helps!
