2007-2008 Auditions

How many are auditioing this week? It's my D's second audition, first MT audition, and we are both excited, and a bit nervous!
And, Tim (or anyone else), will my D really know before Christmas where she stands on acceptance?
We're hoping for good weather, and a great audition!

Two years ago (hard to believe it's been that long), my son received his acceptance letter from BW within 2 weeks of the audition. He was so excited when that letter came. I think everyone got a letter quickly, but some of those letters were deferrals, meaning that you didn't know the answer until later. I believe that people got letters of yes, no, or maybe, all very quickly after the fall audition.

BW holds a very wonderful audition day, even with a nice lunch for attending parents. They will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Last year the only fall audition date was around November 11th I think (Veteran's Day weekend). The results from that audition were sent when B-W was finishing their fall semester. My D received her acceptance in mid-December. I believe there were four acceptances made, at least one waitlist that I know of, and some rejections at that time. I don't remember how many auditioned that day, but maybe around 35? Sending good wishes to your daughter!

I don't believe you have to be "academically" accepted before you can audition. You just need to have your application file completed. If I remember correctly, my son requested his audition date as part of the conservatory application which he submitted with the BW application.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I am mistaken. With so much going on with senior year and college app's I may have gotten this mixed up with another school's process.

I remember the Nov. 11th audition, I was there. There were close to 40 of us, because they had more auditioners than what they wanted that day. But good luck to EVERYONE who is auditioning, BW was BY FAR my favorite audition!

And no, you don't have to be academically accepted before auditioning, but if they are "iffy" on your academics, they won't call you to say "yes" or "no" until you get your second semester grades in.
