Study Abroad...?

I was looking on Bard's website at the study abroad options...there don't seem to be too many. I take French and I'd want to probably study abroad there, but it seems that the only SA program in France is during summer/winter break - which is kind of a bummer.

Do any of you know anything about how good the SA program at Bard is?

There are lots of other colleges & Universities that offer Study Abroad. You do not have to be enrolled there to participate. Just because you are a student at Bard doesn't mean you can only apply to Bard sponsored programs. Skidmore, Smith, Middlebury, etc.

yeah i agree with rgwardrn. bard has a very very very limited study abroad program. you have to look elsewhere (and do all of the work yourself to find this stuff out) to be able to study abroad. every college has its ups and downs.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I meant that not every college will have a study abroad program that matches every student's desire. Bard is simply not big enough to offer study abroad at every country in the world. Having said that, I would imagine that there are colleges that don't offer study abroad in Russia like Bard does, so students at those colleges can take advantage of Bard's program.

thats true, but then again, not everybody wants to go study abroad in Russia. For instance, I really want to do a study abroad program in Israel, but Bard doesn't offer it, so I really dont know how i'd have to go about getting into a program like that. I feel like if Bard had more study abroad resources it would just be easier. then again, im sure the professors can help you find what you need.

not to be rude, but this is college. you make your own opportunities. if bard doesn't offer what you want, it should be up to you to make it happen. it's not difficult to study abroad in israel or anywhere else, you just have to be willing to do the work to make it happen.

when did I say im not willing to do the work to make it happen? i just pointed out the fact that you DO have to do the work yourself. i'm not lazy, nor have I ever believed that anything in life comes easily
