Presidential Scholar?

Hey, my letter said you've been accepted as a Presidential Scholar, a four year merit something.. what does this mean? also, i'm trying to decide between Bard, Boston College, Bowdoin, and Oberlin. Do you have any suggestions? i'm pretty outgoing, a varsity swimmer, and a partier, but i want to go to the best school for academics. advice?

My letter said the same thing, and I know nothing about this "presidential scholar" porgram either. Does anyone know? I tried searching Bard's website, but I couldn't find anything about it.

I'm trying to decide between Wesleyan, Middlebury, Bard, and maybe Amherst (I should hear on Monday - I'm hoping). So if I get a merit scholarship at Bard, that may help me decide. Anyone know when we get financial aid info too?

I got an email notifying me of acceptance but I have recieved no official letter yet. Did you receive the "presidential scholarship" and the other scholarship info in an email or did it come through the regular postal service.

Bard only notified me through regular mail (I didn't get any emails b/c I'm from the US), but it was included in my acceptance letter. If the email you recieved mimics the acceptance letter, it says "you've been accepted to Bard as a Presidential Scholar" or something - I don't have the letter w/ me b/c I'm at school right now.

BTW, I called the admissions office and was told that the prez scholar thing is a 4 year merit award (as the letter said) but that they hadn't decided how much it would be (according to some student as of Monday).

It sure is. I have also been accepted at Macalester, BU, UMich and Colby. Boston University tops the list at present because of the aid amount but if Bard gives me equal if not better aid, I would opt for that.

Well, actually I am more of all set on going to Kenyon..as it has offered me with excellent Fin Aid package.
But according to my knowledge Colby and Macalester are also known to award good financial aid and are reputed as to be better than Bard!!
How do you say??
