bard vs. nyu?

Since this is going in the Bard College forum, I suppose I'll ask if anyone has any theories on why I should choose Bard over NYU?

I'd really appreciate it, it's been so long since I've researched all these colleges, and now that I'm trying to make the final decision, all the information seems to have flown out of my head.

Thanks!

I think urban vs rural is a pretty big part of the decision. Then the size issue, liberal arts college with small classes vs huge university. It's just personal opinion but I think Bard is a more intellectual place, they have lots of class discussions. Obviously these are just some of the big differences. I'm sure there are some personal ones like each schools programs and financial aid. Good luck with the choice.

FishS hit the big issues. NYU is a very large university. You are in the city at NYU while Bard is definatlly in the contry. If you need a city, that is what NYU can give you. Though I think that Bard has alot to offer. It is a very personal school. You will trully be able to develop your own learning. Bard will alow you the flexability to trully be involved in your own educational experience. A big thing about Bard for people used to city life is being in the rural area. There are places a short drive away..like the town of Hudson but some student feel somewhat isolated at Bard. If you can I would visit, see where you would live, eat the food, talk to professors. Visits really give a good idea of what is best for you.
Ok
Good luck

I dont mean to say that Bard is in "the middle of no-where". It is good location to get to NYC and Albany. But you cant really go to a central town area, it is mostlly campus unless you drive a little
Again
good luck
