I agree, the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts is something else!

mattman, you should make contact with the Theatre chair soon. Perhaps set up an appointment during accepted students day in April?

There are many shows going on in both semesters. There are the departmental shows, mostly for majors, in the black box in Fisher as well as many more student run productions elsewhere on campus. The directing majors need to direct shows for their major and are always looking for actors who will probably not be majors as the majors are involved in the department shows.

I think Bard is an awesome school (I applied), but come on:

Botstein uses the main auditorium of the beautiful Gehry-designed performing arts center for his orchestra, but won't let any student organizations use it? that's a little messed up.

the performance arts center is actually the reason I decided to take a tour there. I'm not even going for theatre, I just love architecture and the building was beautiful. But once I got there I feel in love with the place. It's so nice and the theatre program is awesome. I reccommen going to some of their preformances in the spring and summer that are open to the public. My friend lives in the town over from Bard in the summer and he goes a lot and says they are really great.
