FYI, although it may be a little late in the day for this, at least for this year, Discover's student loans, the subsidized Staffords anyway, do not carry a fee. If you borrow the first year max, $3,500.00, you get the full amount, unlike most other Stafford loan options.
Also, they answer the phone when you call, which is more than I can say for most lenders.
