Bard IDP

So I just got my confirmation date for November 7 for the immediate decision plan. I was just wondering if anyone else was signed up for the program or if anyone had any input? I'm so excited and nervous, but I can't wait to find out if I'm in!

I'm going the 13th. I'm a little nervous; I still have to do the readings, but I've skimmed them and they look really interesting. Good luck, I hope you get in! Is Bard your first choice? Do you plan on applying to other schools even if you are accepted?

I'm going the 13th too! I'm scared out of my mind! But I always get scared before these things. Hopefully I'll be smart...

Yeah I read the reading Plato but not the other one. I have to get on that. Bard is definitely in my top two, but I'll probably apply to a few others even if I get in just for financial reasons.

But good luck to both of you! It sounds like such an interesting program, I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Same here, I plan on applying to others (Wesleyan, Reed, Hampshire, Brown, a few others possibly) for financial reasons, but I really do love Bard.

Good luck! I'm exited to see how it goes as well.

^^ DD applied IDP last year (class of 2013). Her experience was wonderful, and when we met her after the "whole thing" ended, she had a skip in her step.

As parents, while IDPs were getting 'grilled', we got down & personal with Prez Leon Botstein, always an educational joy.

It's a day to be remembered fondly.....go forth with open arms.

@ Whatweaimfor
I went on November 7th for Bard IDP too.
Have you heard from Bard yet?
I'm really nervous; I thought that decisions would be at my house in a day (I live close), but it hasn't yet. And I think today's a federal holiday, is mail delivered today?

Does anyone know what percentage of IDP candidates get accepted?

^^ approx 60%.

Doing the IDP work, showing interest, and obviously having good grades and (optional) scores, makes for a strong candidate.

Most people look at those required IDP readings and say "um, I don't think so." Those who say "yeah, this looks interesting, what a great concept" are the kind of people Bard looks for.
