Barnard: What Are My Chances of Getting In?

I am a soon to be senior in high school.

My GPA is a 3.74 unweighted and 4.89 weighted. (will increase to a 3.75+ with s2 of junior year)
By the time I graduate I will have taken seven APs: US History, World History, Government & Politics, Language and Composition, Spanish Language, and European History.

SAT total score: 2160
Writing: 780 (Essay--11)
Reading: 630
Math: 750

ACT composite: 34
English: 35
Math: 33
Reading: 35
Science: 32

My extracurriculars includes:
American Sign Language Club (1 yr)
School Newspaper
Tutoring (75 hrs)
Volunteering (100 hrs)
Freshman Mentoring
Freshman Orientation Committee
Vice President of Community Service Club

Internships/Work Experience:
Year-Long internship at NYC-based magazine
Teen Editor at online magazine
Month-Long Foreign Language Research Project (over the summer)
Summer internship at social media startup

Leadership: (mentioned above as well)
Vice President of Community Service Club
Teen Editor at magazine

So do I have a decent chance of getting in? Or are my academics/extracurriculars too low?

Thanks in advance!

Probably no replies because there really is no answer. You'll just have to apply and find out. I did wonder why you weren't taking any AP math or science, but Barnard might not. The best anyone can really say now is that your application wouldn't get tossed in the rejection pile right away, but you could probably tell that yourself. Demonstrate interest, write good essays, and hope for good recommendation letters. Oh, and since your SAT Reading seems lower than expected, given your other scores, you might want to take SAT over since best scores are used. SAT is already good, of course. Only 21% of applicants were admitted last year, so no one can tell you anything beyond it's definitely worth a shot.

Your chances are very good to excellent. If you took ACT w/ writing DO NOT submit your SAT results. You had all 99th & 98th percentiles on the ACT. Try to engage in more editorial or management responsibility at the school newspaper. See - First-Year Student Application Requirements | Barnard College

I hate chances threads, sorry. The best I can say is you won't get in if you do not apply.

Best of luck....and if you have specific questions, I'd be happy to reply if I have expertise or experience in that area...

SAT results are fine. I see no reason not to submit it all.

We did, to all schools for S who took both with good results.

Submit official results from EITHER the College Board SAT Reasoning Test with two SAT Subject Tests OR the ACT Assessment Test with Writing.

Barnard’s policy on score choice is simple. First, we expect students to choose a testing instrument, SAT or ACT, which allows them to test their best, and submit the appropriate test requirements.

Hey! I think you have very good chances- your gpa is up the mark and ACT is pretty strong too. If I were you I would try to do more in the areas of extracurriculars you are engaged in than try to join more. All you need are stellar essays! Good Luck!

Thanks for the chancing! I know there's no way of knowing for sure but I'm happy to know that I have a good 50/50 chance of getting in. Thanks for the advice! As for ACT w/writing, I'm taking it next Saturday. Any tips for the essay?

By reading basically all the questions and answers on this forum, I think the people who got in really wanted to go to Barnard and expressed this concern through their essays. I also think they wrote ambitious, bold and opinionated essays. Just give them a picture of you that all the other requirements fail to show and tell them how you want to be there and why!
