Waitlisted

Is there still a high chance of being admitted? or are the chances low?

I don't think anyone knows at this point. People certainly do get off wait lists, but no one knows what yields for this year will be.

I know it's hard, but you just have to wait. It would be wise to secure a spot in another institution in case you are not taken off the wait list.

I definitely second what mythmom said. Your best bet would be to "fall in love" with another school to which you have been accepted and make plans accordingly. Of course, should you chose to accept your waitlist spot, only send in additional info to the ad-com that is significant: awards, achievements that you have garnered since your application was sent last fall.

Best to you!

13% seems REALLY high. If you look at the numbers, I believe only a few students (in the single digits or teens) are admitted off the wait-list each year, IF any at all.

I wish that only girls SERIOUSLY interested in attending Barnard if offered admission would accept a place on the wait-list. I have friends who are like "Well, I'll stay on for the heck of it. It can't hurt anything."

If you can't tell, I've been wait-listed.

Best of luck to everyone!

If you're already in love (or even in like) with another school, STAY OFF THE STUPID LIST! Don't make me hunt you down.
