I think you stand an excellent chance. Barnard will want to feel the love in your application, but applying ED is a pretty good way to express your love.

I also think you have a really good chance.

Remember you should only apply ED if money is definitely not an issue for you (I kinda ignored everyone who said that to me, but they're right!!). Barnard doesn't give any merit based scholarships, which other schools would probably give you.

But other wise, applying ED is great. It takes away the college waiting stress and personally, I think you feel way more part of the school and the community. It's hard to describe what I mean.. but other EDers have agreed with me... we're just special haha

Good luck with your apps!

i totally agree with you, snivellus! ED was great. i knew before all of my friends, which gave me a little bit of a seniority complex, because it was like i was already in college and other kids didn't have acceptances yet. me and the other EDers at my HS (to different schools) would feel so chill as everyone else stressed. i could relax and concentrate on yearbook, which was getting down to serious business right after winter holiday, which was also nice.

also, you meet fellow EDers on facebook in like, december, so you already have that sense of community/"OMG, we're practically there already!"

so yeah, definitely recommend it if it's financially doable. (same with my, snivellus, i ignored that little bit as well, but i didn't really matter in the end, because barnard gives the same financial for ED as RD.)

oh, and mishka, i think you're chances are really high, especially for ED. just remember to showcase extra curriculars and your passions; it isn't all about scores and grades with barnard.
