Barnard Spring transfer, financial aid, and deferring to the fall

Hi. I am currently a Sophomore at Vassar and I'm considering transferring to Barnard. I was hoping to apply for Spring semester, but apparently spring admits are ineligible for institutional grants. If I am admitted, could I defer my acceptance until the fall so I can hopefully get an institutional grant?

Any idea what the financial aid policy for transfer students is like at Barnard? Vassar currently meets 100% of my demonstrated need and I don't need to take out loans because my family make under 60k. Would Barnard match my current financial aid package? (Probably not, right?)

I would hate to stay at Vassar just because of poor financial aid policies for Barnard transfer students. I suppose most colleges are probably less generous to transfer students.

I would call Barnard's financial aid office with your questions... or possibly admissions. They are generally very helpful. Best to you!
