Horrible first SAT score but Great one the second time help
Hey guys I am a senior and live in Queens NY. I love Barnard and evertything about it.
However I have a question and hopefully you guys can help me
Last year I took a horrible SAT class and took the SAT in March knowing I wasn't going to do great but maybe I cna just see where I stand. I got a 1500/2400 and from then on till june had a private tutor 3 days a week for 3 hrs each day and in June I got a 2120. Will Barnard be concerned with my first SAT score even though I dramitcally increased it on my second test? Thank you guys
I believe Barnard takes "super scores", which means they take the best of your scores from the different times you took the test. It won't look "bad" at all. At least that is my absolutely non-professional opinion (which is pretty much all you will get here!)
best to you and congrats on doing so well on the SAT.
Doesn't Barnard allow score choice? As of March of 2008, you are allowed to pick and choose which test scores you send in. Barnard wouldn't even know that you took that first test. There are a handful of schools that have opted out of score choice. Check to see Barnard's policy.
