1. Assume you won't get in. Do all of your other college applications.

Let's add a thing to do for every day we have to go. :-)

1 = exactly what I am doing right now.

2. Try not to let senioritis hit too hard.
3. Get rid of all of the clutter in your room. De-stress, and instant reward!

have fun during thanksgiving break. Don't procrastinate (which is precisely what I'm doing at the moment).

27 more days....I'm taking 10 off (for my thanksgiving break: hopefully I'll be reveling so much in family reunions, going out, gingerbread and pre-xmas cheer that I won't notice.) Then it's another finals-packed two weeks once I get back to school. So hopefully the 27 days fly by....this week is passing so slowly....

4. Compulsively check the Barnard threads on CC.

Has Barnard asked any of your for first quarter grades?

i was actually wondering about the first quarter grades myself. From what I understand, Barnard doesn't require them (for ED) , but we can choose to send them if we would like.

wait so I have this all figured out.. Dec. 15th is a Tuesday, and there's no way that they will send the letters, positive or negative, out just one day before the notification deadline, and the day before that is a Sunday (no mail) and the admissions office is closed on Saturday! SOOO, there's a possibility that letters will be mailed as early as the 11th! -- which means that some of us might hear on Saturday or Monday at the latest?

..just me fantasizing..

Oh, and about how long did it take them to send you your app tracking passwords after you submitted your application??

college101-

I asked about first quarter grades to the admissions rep who visited my school, and she said "We may or may not request them." Vague, right? I asked her in what circumstance they'd ask, and she said there's no one specific circumstance. So I was just wondering if any of you have actually been asked, and if so, do you know why?

I was under the impression that they *mail* the letters on the 15th, and we get them a few days after that. Based on past CC threads, accepted women will be notified via priority mail and deferred/rejected will be notified via regular mail (i.e. accepted will find out a couple days sooner than rejected) and internationals will find out day-of via email.

They said you'll get the tracking password within two weeks, and they told me that they usually send codes out on Wednesdays. If you submitted recently and don't have your code yet, I'd wait until next Wednesday before freaking out.

I submitted mine close to the deadline and I don't have my code yet. No need to worry, they must be inundated with information!

I can't stand knowing that the school sends out those packages I've heard so much about. I will be jittery that week, and I can say right now that I will be calling my mom compulsively about the mail. *deep breath*

I like the cleaning-the-room idea. Will do that. Must do that, actually.
