Baylor's Campus and Research

Hey guys I have two more questions about Baylor Unversity. Firstly, while I am planning on visiting Baylor over spring break, I am curious how the campus compares to Rice's in terms of how "pretty" the buildings/classrooms are and that sort of thing. Additionally, I was wandering how competitive their Baylor Summer Research Program for seniors is to get into and also how prestigious it is.

Thanks so much,
Robbie

Baylor

I know many people who went there and have the following comments:

- the campus is very nice. You forget you are in Waco, Texas (well, for awhile).
- major improvements over the past 20 years -- new student center, basketball arena, etc.
- Waco is only slightly less humid than Houston
- the summer research program is likely not wildly competitive. Rice has more of a national reputation.
- Baylor's business undergrad degree is very very good from what I hear -- partic strong in banking, accounting, etc.
- Baylor's pre-law program is also very good. they used to have a 3+3 program where you attended the undergrad for 3 years and rolled into law school your senior year if admitted. Baylor's law school is the top trial law program in the United States.

Other comments:

- the kids are very nice
- no nerds like at Rice (nerd city)
- the entire town revolves around the school (not so in Houston)
- the girls are outrageously gorgeous and nice (even Univ of Texas' star QB dates one)

there you have it. all the most important stuff.

;-)
