Beloit and religion and conservative viewpoints

Princeton Review says Beloit is among the top colleges in the nation where the students are not very religious and most liberal ("nostalgic for Bill Clinton").1

I like a lots of stuff about Beloit - Lauren Pope and Carolyn here have said it better than I could here just now - but one thing I have a concern about is how well a student with a view point that differs from the prevailing view would fit in.

1 Demographics Students Ignore God on a Regular Basis
Are students very religious?

I do not feel that the students at Beloit are "in your face" with their views. You should do find unless you are that way about your views.

My daughter has a number of friends at Beloit who are quite religious and definitely on the conservative side. They do, however, have open minds. They seem quite happy and accepted at Beloit.

My daughter is pretty liberal in her political views, but more conservative in her moral standards. She does go to church every now as well. She has also felt comfortable at Beloit.

One of the reasons my daughter decided on Beloit was that she liked that politics wasn't the center of every conversation as she'd found it at some other schools she'd visited. She also liked that it's a pretty open-minded and accepting sort of place, with room for a lot of different points of view. True, students as a whole do lean towards the left (but that is true at most colleges), but, As Asdad says, whether you're a liberal or a conservative, the main problem at Beloit will come if you are "in your face" with others who don't share your views. Otherwise, it is a sort of live and let live sort of place.

thanks for the input. There is a line in the latest Fiske Guide in the Beloit chapter that cites a humorous campus quip, "At Beloit, you can be anything except a Republican".

That's nonsense. My daughter knows at least three Republicans at Beloit. She even deems to eat dinner with them. LOL. (I am joking here)
