| My daughter has a number of friends at Beloit who are quite religious and definitely on the conservative side. They do, however, have open minds. They seem quite happy and accepted at Beloit.
My daughter is pretty liberal in her political views, but more conservative in her moral standards. She does go to church every now as well. She has also felt comfortable at Beloit.
One of the reasons my daughter decided on Beloit was that she liked that politics wasn't the center of every conversation as she'd found it at some other schools she'd visited. She also liked that it's a pretty open-minded and accepting sort of place, with room for a lot of different points of view. True, students as a whole do lean towards the left (but that is true at most colleges), but, As Asdad says, whether you're a liberal or a conservative, the main problem at Beloit will come if you are "in your face" with others who don't share your views. Otherwise, it is a sort of live and let live sort of place. |
