Party Atmosphere at Bennington?

Hi, I'm a high school junior who's been looking at Bennington, and I'm thrilled. In my entire college search, I've never been this excited about a college, and I'm trying to convince my parents to let us visit during spring break.

I just had a quick question about the party atmosphere at Bennington. What is it like? I don't imagine I'd be a huge party person, but I'm not bothered by underage drinking and pot smokers, and I'd rather avoid a college where the administration makes a fuss for underage drinking and things like that. I've come across a few things about parties at Bennington, such as the themed house parties, the whole nudity thing, the different bands, etc. I've also read that President Coleman is part of a group of college presidents who are for lowering the drinking age, so I don't imagine the administration would make a huge fuss about that. But I just want to be sure, since I don't have any concrete information. Thanks!

Surprise, surprise - - a student too young to drink legally is not concerned about underage drinking and hope sthe admin won't "make a huge fuss about that." I'm sure the admin would be delighted by OP's support for lowering the drinking age.

Yes, I realized how stupid a post that was about a day later. I was in a weird mood when I wrote that. I tried to delete it, but found I couldn't, so yeah--now I've just made a bad impression. So much for competence.

all the kid wanted to know was what the party atmosphere is like.
they weren't asking for your personal opinion on their views concerning the legal drinking age.

just because someone supports the lowering of the legal drinking age doesn't make them a complete fool. there's plenty of reasons why it should and why it shouldn't be lowered.

Hey, you post on these boards you get unsolicted opinions and advice - - but I don't see any reference to OP as a complete fool, though as post #3 indictaes, the orig post was probably impulsive and. Also, I can't help but notice, 03x, that like poster #2 you offered an opinion w/o responding to poster OP'ss question. Glass houses, casting stones . . . .

(OP - - very mature of you to post that, upon reflection, you attempted to delete your origninal entry.)

Why doesn't someone just answer the kid's question instead of being jerks to eachother and calling people on why or why not they should give their drinking age opinions.

I'm applying to Bennington also, and I'm a senior. I would really also like to know what the party life on campus is. I thought that this thread could have answered my question...but it looks likes people were just wasting their time arguing about stupid things that aren't what this site is for...so thanks for that!
