Bentley University 2017 Fall Transfer Applicants

Nash17Nash17 Registered User Posts: 22 New Member
Hi, I figured I would start a forum relating to anyone who has applied as a transfer student to Bentley for this coming fall. I was wondering if anyone has heard back yet? I sent my application in at the beginning of April and still have not heard back. In case anyone wants to compare or give feedback I will provide my stats. Let me know what you think, or what you've heard! :)

-2 years at community college: GPA is 3.77
-Work full time
-Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
-Participant in SocialSports coed soccer league
-2 very strong recomendations from an economics professor and business law professor.
-Attended transfer panel at Bentley, toured campus, had an interview that went very well.
-Setbacks: Poor transcript from previous college from five years ago, but went back to school and focused on my academics.

I'd love to hear how everyone else's transfer applications are going and whether or not you have received any word from Bentley yet! I hope my credentials are good enough, but being 24 and working full time, it's not particularly easy to engage in many extracurriculars. I'd appreciate any feedback on my chances! Thanks!

    Hi Nash,
I sent my application in March 30th and I have heard nothing from Bentley either and today's May 1.
Anybody else heard back from Bentley on Fall 2017 transfer?
  • Nash17Nash17 Registered User Posts: 22 New Member
@Michelina I have not heard anything back yet either... On the Mybentley portal it states on the right hand side all decisions will be sent by April, so it worries me that it is now May.

Hi Nash - I still have not heard anything - have you? Now the portal says "Rolling decisions"
  • Nash17Nash17 Registered User Posts: 22 New Member
@Michelina I talked to an admissions officer this week and they told me that they will go over the rest of the applicants and notify them by the end of May, and that since it's rolling you could potentially hear anytime from now until then! Hopefully we hear soon! If anyone else has heard anything and wants to share, I'd appreciate it :)

    Hey Nash,

I really appreciate you sharing that info. But end of May - ugh! I have to let another school know by May 5. I guess I will have to pay the other school $$$ to reserve a spot and then lose it if I get accepted to Bentley. I noticed that in the 2016 Bentley transfer site on CC that a bunch of people got in between May 4 -11 last year. Lets keep talking!
    And good luck!!

@Michelina That's a tough situation to be in... hopefully you hear back this week so you won't have to potentially lose money on reserving a spot! Where else did you apply? Also, do you mind sharing your stats?! And yes, hopefully we hear back in the beginning of May!

Accepted today, May 3rd, 2017 for transfer to Bentley.
Transferring from UMass Boston as a freshman.

    Management major
    3.6 GPA
Brother of Delta Sigma Pi, professional business fraternity
Intramural soccer in the fall and spring
    Work Part-Time
Attended a transfer information session and also had an interview (coincidentally, the lady who interviewed me was the President of Delta Sigma Pi)

My high school GPA was a 2.8, which is why I was rejected when I applied last year as a senior. Elated that I was accepted this time around, though. Best of luck to everyone else!
