I believe you can always switch to the roomate you want during welcome week.

I am pretty sure you will get what you want. It makes Berkeley's job easier for pairing people they assume will get along.

if you requested one another, and you got the same rooming assignment, then it's almost certain that you'll room with one another.

as for the exact date you'll be getting your residence hall details...last year they put out an exact date that we'd get that info...and they kept pushing it back. so this year, what they say is late july/early august...and they're rolling so you'll get your information as soon as they have it.

Roomate information is almost always given in early/mid-August. And the Berkeley bureaucracy is famous for not making its deadlines, so be patient.
