Calso

Hey

I've submitted my SIR and my housing application and the next thign on the list is Calso. I've read here that come classes will be hard to get into (core classes). I've also learned that Calso gives you priority in picking classes. However, I saw that the price to attend Calso was 195. My friend told me that there is a Calso session closer to me in So Cal in Torrance. I was wondering if this was true because I could not find anything like it on the site.

Also, If you attend Calso, will you get most of the classes you want? Is it really worth it to go to CAlso?

thanks for the help

According to my daughter there is a limit to the number of credits one can sign up for at Calso; she thinks it's something like 10.5 credits.

For the units, Whats the minimum amount needed per semester? I thought it was 10.5, but i guess thats the amount u can apply at during Calso.

Also, Can any of you tell me what they mean by phase 1 and phase 2?

registration is divided in phases to try to offer more people chances to get into the classes they want/need.

Can only register max of 10.5 units in phase I. Once everyone has a chance in phase I for their top priority classes, phase II opens where you request the remaining classes/units.

After all are done with phase II chance, third phase is adjustment where waitlists clear, courses are dropped, etc.

So do people who don't go to CalSO get all the classes they want, most, or just some?
