which dorms are harder to get into, foothill or stern?

which dorms are harder to get into, foothill or stern? Also, do freshmen ever get singles? Ever? Or should I not even choose a single on one of the 5 drop down selections?

thanks

Also - if anybody knows - how are the theme house programs? I'm thinking about applying to the global environment theme house, and the woman in science and engineering theme house... do they provide good experiences? Thanks

1) Probably Foothill because Stern is all-girls. However, because of the prices Foothill is easier compared to the Units.

2) Freshmen don't get singles unless they need one. (I know my friend got one at another school with Cal's policy because of medical reasons, but she fought hard for it.)

Well, I can't *actually* answer your questions, but I can say that I for sure applied to the women in science and engineering program, and it looked pretty hardcore to me. My 2 cents. Let me know if you get in, and if I got in too I can say that I already know someone in the program! Woohoo!

OH! By the way, I guess I can answer one of your questions-- it looks like it's probably okay to choose singles as one of your choices from the drop-down menu, even your first choice if you want. Just be sure to include more realistic second, third, and fourth choices, and then make your last choice "any dorm, any ... whatever." You know the one I mean.

Go bears!!
