| I know I won't get in, but...
...I will probably apply anyways. How are my chances?
...I'm applying anyways. You guys might as well chance me.
Demographics: Asian male, California, Low-income, first-generation Vietnamese immigrant, going to a bad high school (API 3)
GPA: 3.95 (unweighted, grades 9-11). 4.27 (weighted, grades 10-11).
Rank: 3
My school is on block schedule this year so I have semester grades for senior year (3 A's, 1 B). I took the hardest classes throughout high school (but unfortunately my school is very limited in courses so that doesn't say much).
SAT I: 2220 (800 CR, 680 M, 740 W); one sitting
SAT subject: 770 USH, 650 Math ii (hopefully 700+ this Saturday), 660 Literature (hopefully 700+ this Sat)
EC's:
-piano
-Brown belt in martial arts (and tutoring kids)
-Officer in two clubs
-Church band
Recs: will be pretty good
AP tests: english lang-4; USH-4
Do I have a chance at all? Thanks.

You have a good chance.
Besides your excellent stats, you should remember one crucial factor.
You're Vietnamese.
That will help you out a lot.

serious about what???? About you posting on here saying "do i have any chance at all" and "I know I won't get in." You got a 2220 on the SAT, how would you have no chance at all????? Maybe I'm missing something here, but this makes no sense

Virtuoso, BC has plenty of students with lots of sports and other ECs. It needs more students like you to boost its average SAT scores. So you should definitely apply. You will have a good chance of admission.

If you show dedication to your few EC's, I think that's a big factor. I'm no admissions officer, but I'd put more weight on the student who has EC's that they've been with for years, rather than the student who has 389274982473 EC's on their transcript with little to no dedication at all.
I know that when I applied (I'm a junior now), I only had two EC's, but I'd been with them for a very long time. So, you have a chance.
Good luck! BC's awesome.

He posted the same stupid title on at least three different forums, regardless of the school's caliber (same for BC and Duke, that doesn't make sense).
