| Okay, well I'll just tell you my experience. BC does have a slightly less self-selective applicant pool, but it's still very competitive. The admission rate for the class of 2012 was 26%, the SAT ranged from 1950-2220 (average: 2085), and the ACT ranged from 30-33. I think it's easier to tell who's not going to get in than who is going to get in. A girl from my school got rejected and she is going to Johns Hopkins (she also got into BU, Bowdoin, and Wellesley). I think if you're above the mid. 50% ranges and have strong academics and ECs, then you have a good chance. It's sort of a toss up, but if all your stuff is there you should have a good shot at getting in. Sometimes it's simply that their trombone player just graduated, they need a new one, and the applicant that you're up against is a trombone player. They have certain needs that need to be fulfilled at the school. Just make sure you're unique and honest! Good luck! |
