Loyolla Dorm

Is Loyolla all freshman?

What are the doubles in Loyolla like? Is there enough room for extra furniture like a lounge chair?

What about common rooms and kitchens? Should I bring my own fridge and microwave?

About 600 sophomores also live on Upper Campus. I don't know whether or not any are housed in Loyola Hall though.

The sophomores don't really live on upper, they live on college road. To get to the dorms on upper, you have to walk up a whole other set of stairs going past the three sophomore dorms that are on college road (get used to walking up and down lots of stairs!)

The rooms at BC are a good size compared to some of the other rooms I've seen at other colleges, but some doubles are smaller than others (just the luck of the draw I guess). There's really not much extra room for more furniture, but you could always bring up the chair and see if you can find some place to put it if you really want it.

I suggest bringing your own fridge and microwave, but you don't have to if you feel like you won't use them. I know I couldn't live without microwave popcorn.

You may distinguish between upper and upper upper campus, but BC's administration considers those 3 sophomore residence halls (only one of which actually borders College Road) to be on upper campus:

The rental price for the combo microwave/refrigerator available through BC is pretty high -- $225. For the same amount of money, you can buy a small microwave and refrigerator at a discount store (like Target or Home Depot) and avoid paying in the future. But renting may be the way to go if you don't have a convenient place to store them over the summer and/or don't want to haul them back and forth.

Check with your future roommate about sharing the cost, or maybe you provide the microwave and they provide the refrigerator.
