Dear hhs10 : Your three way SAT score of 1990 places you in the third quartile of the accepted students profiles at Boston College which is not the typical result you would see from a class valedictorian. Your 1290 on the critical reading and math sections is actually very close to the bottom of the quartile which is all the more concerning. You are certainly going to need another administration of that exam to potentially increase your two way score to 1350+ and three way score to 2050+ to solidify your application.

Your Honor Society participation is fine, but we would like to see more detail on what you actually did as part of these organizations with your positions and leadership roles. Awards earned in 8th grade are really not relevant for a college application - no more than High School is relevant when applying for graduate school.

In terms of schools, Virginia, Boston College, Wake Forest, Nortre Dame and Georgetown are all very similar in terms of SAT expectations. Your scores are consistently third quartile at all of these schools. Furman is safer but you could still use one or two more in that safety category just to be sure. You might never need the options as a valedictorian, but that is why they are called "safety selections".

nice!!

You seem very similar to me...I attended Virginia Girls State 2009 and LOVED IT!
A lot of times your essay can make or break you DON"T talk about all the amazing things you did..
Talk about a unique or weird experience...with a catchy intro...make it fun
but also remember to reflect on what you got out of it...I'm sure you'll get into the college of your dreams
