Dear bcpleaseee : With a weighted GPA at 91%, our estimation would be that your unweighted GPA sits somewhere in the mid-to-lower 80s. That is not the typical scholastic performance that would attract attention to your application although your having already taken Anatomy/Physiology is intriguing. Your AP profile is thin but with english, a science, and history present, you do have three core disciplines covered. It would have been nice to see a calculus or chemistry added into your AP mix for completeness.

Your ACT score at 32 (provided there is good balance across the four sections) should be right around the upper quartile. You present an interesting mix of sports, job experience, and volunteerism. Additional leadership positions would always bolster your application. Do not forget to work your summer program at Georgetown into your essay or application as this is a major cohort school to Boston College and might help to validate your application despite the lower than expected GPA.

Ignoring legacy, your application feels like one in which the essay will carry a tremendous amount of weight along with your recommendations. We could easy see you being accepted based on your college courses, board scores, and high school engagement. We could also see you being rejected for not having a high enough GPA or a sufficiently rigorous curriculum against what is offered in your high school. In cases like this, the essay/recommendations can well be the tipping point. Be sure to spend extra time considering both of those parts in your application process. Good luck!
