Looking for Acceptance in my Christmas Stocking

Race: White
State: RI
School: Small Independent Private School
Class Rank: School doesn't rank
Class Size: 40 hence no ranking
SAT Scores: 770M 730CR 610W 1500/2110
SAT II Scores: BioM: 690 Chem: 700
GPA: 3.5 Unweighted
Course load: 8 honors courses, AB Calc, AP Physics, AP Bio, APUSH pretty typical course load for the best students. Not a lot of APs offered and APs are typically only for seniors.

EC:

- Robotics Club member for four years; semi-finalists freshman and junior year at BU Engineering Design Competition
- Varsity Cross Country Team - 3 years and Captain for 1
- Varsity Basketball 2 years, JV for 2 years, and Captain of JV for 1
- Varsity Sailing 3 years
- Senior Layout Editor for Newspaper for 1 year and member for 2
- Captain Physics Team 1 year
- Chem Team and came in 2nd place at RI Chem Exam. Smallest team there

Work Experience

- CVS for the summer and this school year
- Umpire - from start of my ninth grade year until the spring of 09.

Awards:

Coach's Awards - Cross Country 2007, 2008 and Sailing 2007 basically just sportsmanship and leadership awards.
Honor Roll - Freshman through Junior year at the moment

Recs: Head of Science Department taught me 3 years and was my x-country coach, and one from my Math Teacher of 3 years. Both are pretty good. Counselor rec is very good.

Essays: All my essays are pretty good maybe not the best ever, but I think they are pretty good. Counselor thought they were pretty good, and he edited them with me. Can pretty much guarantee no grammatical errors.

I know my GPA is low which is a problem and my writing score is low, but I'm hoping they will be balanced out by the rest of my application.

Good luck. You seem to have a pretty balanced resume. Yeah the GPA is not a 4.0, but dont' sweat it ... all you do now is sit back and wait. Best of luck.
