Admissions Information for CSOM?

Hey guys,
I'm interested in applying to the Carroll School of Management, but can't find any admissions statistics anywhere. I've found the general admissions statistics, but from what I've heard Carroll is a little bit more competitive. As of now, I have a 3.81 unweighted GPA, a 2140 SAT, and I am a 3 varsity sport captain. From those who have been accepted, am I on the right track? What do you suggest I do to increase my chances of acceptance? Thanks.

Dear SuperFanMike : Your profile has offered three points : your GPA (is it in the top 10% of your current High School class), an SAT score (right around the top quartile for BC), and a three sport captain's role. Let's offer just some of the other items to consider : music, arts, volunteerism, jobs, community leadership, school leadership (beyond captain's role), clubs, AP course work, business experience, internships, and a host of other topics.

Worrying as to whether CSOM is more competitive than CAS is not a useful expenditure of your time since you are only considering CSOM. (In fact, the difference is statistically insignificant and certainly does not hold the test of numbers over the long haul.)

Continue pressing the envelope on academics and your overall rounded profile or demonstrating a distince passion in one area. Be sure that you are able to demonstrate why you add to the Boston College campus fabric in your essays and application. To answer this question, it is often best to have visited the campus at least once.

Most people seem to think CSOM is a little harder, but it's not dramatically more difficult than the rest of the school. I have also never seen or heard any statistics proving that CSOM is more difficult.

SFMike:

If BC is like most colleges with an undergrad biz program, biz is harder to get into (for guys) than the liberal arts college; of course, the opposite is true for xx chromosonals....

But instead of trying to play the statistics game, look at the totality of your app and see where it 'fits' better; adcoms will likely see the same.
