Summer Programs

I was looking at the BoCO web site the other day and noticed they are still aceepting applicants for their Vocal/Choral Institute summer program. While I could not go this summer, I thought I'd check into for next summer. Has anyone attended this program or known someone that has? What did they think of it?

I actually just got home from the program yesterday. It was AMAZING, I really fell in love with the school through it. It got to be pretty intense at times, but I really loved it. I really feel like a stronger performer after those two weeks there.

check posts for last summer, too

Two students attended last summer's VCI as well and had a great experience. My S was one of them and he felt it was a very strong program. The fact it was not as long as most summer programs was good that summer. He was able to do some additional things (like driver's ed and some dance classes) without feeling overbooked. While at BOCO, though, it was clearly demanding...in very good ways.

Wow thank you so much for your feedback! I'm hoping to apply for next summer so I'm glad you hear positive responses about it.

FYI

Lisa Sheldon one of the voice teachers has her own voice camp. My daughter attended last summer. It was only a week since it was the 1st year. I think this year it will be two. It's listed on the summer program list on CC. Vermont Vocal Arts Institute. The kids stay at a lodge and train at nearby Johnson State. They take dance and yoga also. My daughter had a wonderful time and made lasting friendships. Hard work but laid back too. The last night all the kids stayed up since they wouldn't see each other again. I happen to like the shorter camps because my D was able to do 3 in one summer.

My D attended the summer dance program last year and loved it, the school, and the entire Boston milieu. It is a rigorous program and you have the best teachers. You sleep in the BOCA dorms and eat at Northeastern down the street. Bring a fan! A number of fun activities are planned in the evenings about town.

BOCO has a Vocal Choral Intensive that high school students can attend in summer. One of my students has done it (on BOCO's campus).

EDIT....I looked it up on BOCO's site for you and here is the link:
