| BoCo 2006-2007 production season? We are trying to time our visits to various colleges so that we can see a production (ideally, a musical) when we are there. So far, we've seen Urinetown two places!
I am wondering whether anyone can post the dates and names of whatever musicals BoCo is staging this season. I have not had much luck trying to find that info on their Web site.
Thanks so much! |

| You wouldn't find it on their website except maybe on the academic calender and then it would only list the main stages. The mainstage non musical, Lysistrata, will be the week following thanksgiving. The Spring musical, Heaven and Hell, will be the wekend of March 10th I believe. And the concert musical and studio theatre show will both be in april. There are also a variety of senior directed shows (many of which are better than the mainstages) that will be performed in our studio theatre. They include: Into The Woods, A Little Night Music, Floyd Collins, Urinetown and others. I wish I could tell you the date that Urinetown will be playing so that you could avoid a hat trick, but I don't know for sure. Mid to late March I think. These shows will go up from mid febuary through the end of march/beginning of april. There will be a production almost every weekend. Also, there will be grad student thesis productions throughout that time. Of those I know they will be doing The Last 5 Years and I Love You You're Perfect Now Change. Let me know if you have any more specific questions and I will find out an answer for you. |

| Thanks so much .... I would love to know when A Little Night Music and Into the Woods are being staged, but any musical but Urinetown (as much as I enjoyed the productions we saw at Syracuse and UArts!) is great. |

| Isaac, don't say that the senior-directed musicals are better than the mainstages. That's not nice. Some people LOVE the mainstages, and the fact that we're doing Lucky Duck with the direction of Bill Russell and Henry Krieger is a big deal. And don't forget that, drag show or not, the reviewers LOVED Iolanthe.
Lysistrata is no longer a straight play, by the way. Our director had the songs in the script put to music, and we are singing and dancing in the play. Come check me out as Lampito, the amazing strongwoman from Sparta, Nov 30-Dec 2!!! Huzzah!!!!!!!! |

| Way to go, Samia! My D's high school (a public arts hs) did Lysistrata (the non musical version) last year, and it was amazing. It's great to hear that you already have been cast in a role. I wish we could get to Boston that soon, but I am afraid we cannot. But please let us know how it goes. I am sure I also am not the only one here who would LOVE to hear about your experiences as a BoCo freshmen. Hint, hint, hint .....

| Actually, I'm a sophomore transfer, so I can't really answer questions about freshman year, but I CAN say that sophomore year ROCKS. I love love love this school. The faculty is amazing, and while there are some relatively minor things that everyone complains about (as with any program,) I really feel that the BoCo is one of the best places an aspiring MT performer could possibly be.
If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them for you. |

| Hey girl, I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not. It is true that most of the mainstages are great, but at the same time, I am not exagerating to say that many of the senior directed shows are better. I did not say all are better or even that most are better, but many of them are. Wait till you see some next semester and you'll see what I mean. eg. last year Equis was the best non musical play I have ever seen, and I am invluding professional. And Into The Woods was incredible and I happened to think that Jesus Christ Superstar was great (although I am biased on that one since I was in it). Trust me. Iolanthe was great and I'm sure Lysistrata will be interesting, but many times the senior shows are better. |

| Guess I shouldn't have read your post Samia - the cat is out of the bag!
Our freshman D is also in Lysistrata (what we thought was a straight play.)
She emailed us that we'd have a "surprise" when we came to see it.
5 days until she's home for Thanksgiving - then we turn around and head out to Boston the following week. Now I really can't wait to see the show. |

| Oh, don't worry, the show holds many more surprises than that. I won't say another word!
Who is your daughter? You can PM me if you're not comfortable saying her name on the public forum, but I'd love to go to rehearsal and be like, I talked to your mom on CC! |

| I'm a freshman at BoCo, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have!
I would time my visit for April 20-22 to see me AND Samia in "Lucky Duck." But I guess I'm just biased.
