regional auditions

My daughter is auditioning for Boston and Cincinnati at a regional audition. They are both on the same day and same place., but different times. The times will over lap. We are clueless about this. Any information on these regional auditions would be greatly appreciated.

Usually you can reschedule one of the auditions to later in the day. I would try boco first, as they may be more reasonable about a rescheduling. I reschedueld my audition for boco, to do it while I was at unifieds cause i had extra time and they were very accomidating.

My dd's appts were at the same time, alsoon the same day. CCM couldn't budge, and charged a $50.00 fee to change. BoCo were very accomodating, and no charge :-) either!

How did your daughter do in her auditions. I was wondering how people do in the regional auditions compared to going to the school? Thanks

Hi cak, If you were referring to my post, she hasn't auditioned yet. I'm referring to the NY regionals in Feb, but had the conflicts to straighten out beforehand.

I'm not sure what you mean by form..
If you mean the order, I do know that dance auditions can be accomplished on either day at 11am, 1, and 3pm. You just have to sign up 1 hour before.

It is things like that that make boco the best. That's why I go there!

I think it does not matter where you audition. I got into schools to which i auditioned at unifieds and on campus.

The acting/singing portion of boco's audition is a blok of time where they let you do whatever you want. They let you choose what you want to do first and they talk to you for a couple minutes afterwards.

I would say BoCo definitely looks at those auditioning at the Unifieds as seriously as they do those auditioning on campus. I know of many who got in at Unifieds.

I am a freshman MT at BoCo and I auditioned at the Unifieds. I know of many friends here who also were acceepted from the various Unified auditions. The school definetly takes those auditions just as seriously.

I know that there is an overall four minute time limit for BOTH contrasting songs, but does anyone know if 32 bars for each is enough? Many schools only need 16 bars to decide on the student....so basically, is less better? (quality over quanitity)

You should not confuse the need for auditors to get through a long line of people with a desire to hear only 16 bars. I would say to take advantage of your time. Use all 4 minutes to sing the best that you can. Do a more full version of a song and make it a full performance. They want you to succeed. So just go in there and do it!

Hi dreamcatcher. Some schools request that you prepare 16 bars or 32 bars, so do that but certainly be prepared to sing the complete song.
