Where to stay during on campus auditions

Turns out my kid is going to have to audition on campus, instead of at Unifieds. Anyone have any recommendations for a clean, decent and not overly expensive place to stay while in Boston? The closer to the conservatory, the better. Best of all would be a hotel that provided shuttle service to campus, though that may be asking too much. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Hi Notmamarose,
The Hilton Back Bay is well situated.5 mins walk to BOCO.Nice rooms and good views if you are up high. Check Hotels.com for it and other Back Bay hotels. The Newbury Guest House is on Newbury Street so a great location for shopping and a delightful Bostonian street . I stay there and it includes breakfast . It is clean, affordable and a very short walk to the Conservatory. The Oasis Guest house is very close but I found the rooms cramped. Boston can be very expensive. If you find a cheaper hotel futher away you end up paying alot for taxis.Walking near the BOCO campus, by the Berkelee School of Music along Boylston, Massachussets Avenue and Newbury Street is interesting but avoid being across the Fenway. Hope this helps.

Thoughts on these hotel choices

I have been researching hotels in the BOCO area and have come up with decent rates for the following three: The Eliot Suites, Sheraton, and the Marriott at Copely Place. Have any of you stayed at any of these three hotels? The Eliot is the closest to the conservatory, but the other two look like they might be closer to restaurants and shopping malls. I know that the Hilton Back Bay was also recommended on CC but I couldn't get as good of a rate at that one.

I believe the Sheraton is right behind the Hilton and they're both very close to the school (about a two-three block walk). I don't know where Eliot Suites is. The Marriott is a bit further, but very nice. Within walking distance, but a little bit further. I've stayed mostly at the Hilton because of it's closeness to the school, but in August we stayed at a different hotel and I wish I could tell you the name, because they were so considerate and courteous. I couldn't park our large van in their lot and they recommended another place. When it took over 1/2 and hour for me to return to the hotel, the doorman had started to go looking for me with my son, to assure I was safe.

The Colonnade Hotel - Summit Hotel

BACK BAY AREA
120 Huntington Ave
Boston MA 02116
This was the name of the Hotel with terrific service. Within walking distance of school (maybe five blocks), near shopping, restaurants, etc.

NotMamaRose, When are you going to Boston? My d. has a slot on 2/3 in NYC and would prefer to go to Boston. We are going to see if she can switch.
