BoCo Acceptances Class of 2012

Hey Everyone!
I just wanted to start a thread so when the big decision day comes and everyone finds out their individual news we can all share the hopefully good and sometimes sad info with each other!!
I was also wonderingg... I read on some threads from last audition season and the year before that some students were actually accepted artistically on the spot at their audition. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone thus far?
The Info I received at my audition was that they had the largest auditioning MT class they've ever had consisting of about 1,000 students, 80 some odd percent being girls. I was told by the dance teacher and some other faculty members that they were looking for 20 boys and 20 girls. Anyone else hear anything similar/ different?

SHARE!! Best of luck everyonee!!!

Try to remember that they will accept more than those numbers in order to fill those slots.

We were told at the information session that all decisions have to go through the admissions office and that nothing is definite till then. If the auditors like you and tell you that you are artisically accepted you still have to have your file reviewed by the admissions office. The Dean of Adm said she looks at the file in it's entirety. The only thing they don't use is SAT scores. Maybe in the past grades have not been as big a deal at BOCO but, as mentioned here before, with all the competition schools have to have some way of breaking it down.

kimoki, did they tell you that they do not look at SAT scores? I ask because I spent a lot of time and energy (and a little $$) in the fall trying to get my kid's SAT scores to BoCo, which said they required them. I had them sent in August and they did not arrive, so I had to pay to have them sent yet again. I think grades do matter, at least a little, these days. They certainly asked my D about her GPA and such during her audition. (If they don't look at SAT scores, I am more the fool. But I had spoken several times directly to a very nice guy in admissions, and he said that they had to have them by Dec. 1, preferably.)

I don't think they were a definite requirement but if she had them they could help. I think she takes into consideration that some people just don't do well on them but if you did it can only help.

That makes sense. But the admissions guy did tell me that they needed the SAT scores sent by December 1 (preferably) and dealt with me several times on the phone as we tried to figure out where they went astray. I think I even posted about it way back when in frustration, trying to figure out whether to pay to have them sent "rush," or count on the College Board to do its thing and get them there.

I'm a BOCO freshmen. This is in response to the first post. There are about 750-800 students auditioning this year, and there are many more boys auditioning then you think! Boco will usually take about even numbers of boys and girls, but they are looking for a solid class of 25 males and 25 females for 2012. They will most likely accept more to yield this amount. Don't stress, you find out in two weeks, and you'll be fine!

Any questions hit me up

"You find out in two weeks."

Two weeks from yesterday or from our audition date?

Everyone finds out from BOCO at the same time and it has no connection to the date on which you auditioned. They tend to send decisions in late March.

I recall Halley in admissions saying that they send notices via email (saying, log on to the BoCo we thing) on Friday at 5:30. I took that to mean Friday, March 28.

So BoCo puts the decision online, for sure? Or does a separate email come to students?

Halley was pretty emphatic about the online thing....I recall it because she said the emails are timed to go out after the ofice has closed for the weekend (so they are not flooded with calls). The email directs you to go to the website and log in to get the decision.
