Your SATs are probably the killer, since your GPA is at or above the published 3.5-3.6 range. Consider applying Early Decision II and make sure you write good essays + good recs + good second semester grades and you may get in.

Alternatively, you could try to get into the College of General Studies, which has SAT scores comparable to yours. From what I have heard, the CGS is for a certain brand of people and you're probable to not like it there.

Arb dont apply to the college of general studies. It seems almost remedial. Even the admissions officer i spoke with seemed disgusted when he talked about it.

Like all colleges, I'm sure that they weigh more on the grades than the SAT score. But I think that your score just may be a bit too low for admission. And if you do get in, I wouldn't expect an outlandish amount of financial aid- it seems people with average stats get enough trouble trying to make ends meet!

I had a 87 GPA, 1860 SAT, 26 ACT, but a good essay and recs, and I got in. I have a feeling they really will take their time on your app, so spend your energy trying to make it the best ever versus worrying if they'll like you!
