There are definitely yankee fans here, and you may get to see some exciting games, but don't expect any love from the Red Sox Fans. Some professors like to have their fun with the yankees fans.

My friend went up to Boston to visit Northeastern and BU. Showing his intellegence, he wore a Derek Jeter shirt w/ a Yankees cap. And yes, he is a HUGE Yankees fan.

Let's just say he didn't make it through his intended tour plan before he "evacuated." Seriously though, he was ready to tour the two schools, but got some looks from fellow Bostonians. After touring Northeastern and walking through BU, he immediately went home, vowing to never go to school in Boston.

Oh btw, I am a diehard Mets fan and a "Yankee-hater". When I first get to BU, I may go out and buy the Yankee Hater cap - as well as maybe one of those joke shirts about the Yankees as well that they sell outside of Fenway.

My story was just my friend's experience. You should be fine, as long as you don't flaunt your love for the Yankees in the middle of the street or something.

Nothing bad implied by the fun professors remark. hah. They just like to make jokes about the yankees and give pointed looks to students they know are yankees fans. It's actually pretty amusing.

As far as the student body at BU goes, there are a LOT of people from the NY area.

S is a Yankee fan. He hasn't had any problem. You know, the school year does not coincide with baseball season, and besides, you'll be working too hard to pay much attention to sports.

yea, but the postseason is in october so that would be interesting and pretty awesome to see the red sox/ yankee rivalry in boston.
and my love for the yankees wouldn't affect my decision to go to bu or not. i just wanted to hear what its like for yankee fans in boston. the only thing i'm worried about is going to a game in fenway and wearing all my yankee gear. lol.

I doubt you'll be able to get a ticket to a Yankees-Red Sox game.
