Computer Requirements

Does BU have any requirements for students' computers, specifically aerospace engineering?

Can't answer for that program. You could call them, check their bulletin, etc. The school has no specific req. People use laptops, desktops, whatever OS they want.

There are no requirements for any school at BU. Any programs or special computing things you would need would be available at computer labs.

Okay thanks for the replies. I'm trying to figure out if I should go with a laptop or desktop for college. Do you know if a lot of people take their laptops to class?

Fewer than you'd think. It's a drag hauling your computer around. Lots of people either email their work to themselves or carry a flash drive. Then they can get on a computer in the library or elsewhere and work.

BU has wireless in main areas of the campus but not up and down the length of Comm Ave. Some people take their laptops to the Beach - behind the library.

I assume you're a current student? Do you have a desktop or laptop and is it a good solution for you?

I have a laptop on campus. It's been really convenient for team meetings in the business school and for taking notes in some classes where I just can't write fast enough. I know more people with laptops than desktops, but those with desktops get by just fine. It depends on what you're looking for in a computer; power or convenience
