The food is absolutely AMAZING
Hockey games are awesome, although outside of the Dog Pound, not too many people act like they care
'Campus' is very clean
People CAN be very nice, but a lot of people do live up to the rich, stuck up, a-hole stereotype

Extremely expensive, and potentially not worth going into debt for
Dorms are horrendous
Lack of major sports
RA's are on your ass all the time about alcohol/drugs. Even if you're in a room where no one is drinking and there's some indication of previous drinking, everyone is in trouble
Ethnically cliquey
T can be very inconsistent
T stops running early
Boston shuts down pretty early

I spent a summer at BU, and while I liked it, I had the following negatives:

Lack of campus-depends on the individual, whether you prefer a well-defined campus or a complete immersion in the city

Expensive City-Most of the nearby stores to BU were often upscale and very expensive, not specifically tailored to the average college budget

Warren Tower-very crowded/small dorm rooms and monotonous food schedule in the cafeteria

Here are the positives:
Boston-amazing city with numerous cool places to explore (historically and for those who want to go shopping on newberry st)

Red Sox proximity-the games are AMAZING

close to MIT and Harvard-Cambridge is a very nice college area with a bunch of cool shops; very close to BU if you take the T

nice down-to-earth students and staff; very willing to help you out

Just a note, the sidewalk improvements on Comm Ave east of the BU Bridge are now essentially done and the street looks 1000% better, with the trees, brickwork, benches, etc. all in place.

Yeah it really does look completely different and for the better. I hope they continue that west of BU bridge although I'm pretty sure they're supposed to.
