Schools like BU

I have a pretty good shot at BU with:

3.63/3.97 (UW/W) GPA
1340/1600 SAT
1950/2400 SAT

I'll prolly take it again, and I hope to score in the 2000-2050 region. I also like the majors and the BU campus.

Are there any schools with the same or a little better admission standards? I'm asking this because I'd like to expand my college list by one or two more schools as BU is the only one I'm looking at right now.

So if someone understands my question, please help me.

Yea - definitely a great shot - though maybe not with super super good aid. Try out for other colleges like Northeastern University, New York University, and George Washington University (I don't know why I say this school, but apparently 90% of my floor also applied and got in there - so maybe the acceptance rates are similiar?). Maybe try Tufts or BC, which is about the same difficulty to get into NYU.

Tufts and BC are much more difficult to get into than NYU and with your stats they are a reach. I'm just saying this out of experience because I have applied to both recently...

Eh I think they are comparable - I haven't searched them up explicitly, but I believe it is around 20%... I didn't say he would get in, but they are in the same area (BC and Tufts) and have the kind of culture hes looking for (NYU). Yea - he might get waitlisted, but im just suggesting...

If you're local to Boston, Tufts is hard to get in - because lots of people from around here apply.

It depends which department you are applying to within the colleges. Both CSOM (BC) and Stern(NYU) are highly selective, whereas their arts and sciences departments have acceptance rates over 30%. But you're definitely in at BU.

Not sure what you are looking at majoring in and if you want the urban campus - but I would suggest University of Maryland and University of Pittsburgh. Both have urban campus.

i agree with sak. nyu, possibly usc/ucla would be similar due to city atmosphere.

The University of Maryland is definitely NOT an urban campus. It is a textbook traditional campus in a small town/suburb. No idea where you are getting that from. It is a 20 minute metro ride from DC, however, with its own metro stop. Unless you are talking about UMBC. Does anyone go there?
