Would I qualify for merit aid?

I am not eligible for need based aid and 50K a year is tough for my family. I love BU, but would probably not be able to go unless the price was cut down. Do you think I will be eligible for any type of merit scholarship? And if so, how much?

Anybody who has been accepted and received merit aid, do you mind posting your stats and how much money you received?

My stats are..

SAT: 630 CR; 770 M; 730 W
Rank: top 17% in a smallish competitive public school
5 AP's this year (in every subject)
Above Average EC's

Thanks!

Oh P.S. I am applying RD to the School of Management

you are really kind of skimping out on some details but alot of the merit based aid is dependent on your SAT scores and GPA. Looking at your SAT, I'd say you actually have a decent chance. If you could just score a 2200 it would be good. Don't forget they super score your SATs here at BU meaning they take the highest score from each section from any of your sittings and add them all together to get a total score. Since your scores are pretty high, I'd only assume that your GPA is around that level. Good luck!

i had similar stats to you and only got the 10k dean's scholarship. it helps, but not that much when you still pay 40k.

I don't know the policy now, but my son applied ED 5 years ago with excellent stats and was offered half-tuition scholarship. You must be willing to attend if accepted, though.

The cutoffs for merit aid used to be listed on the BU site. They change the thing around so often I have no idea if it still is or where it might be. The half-tuition University Scholarship required a 3.9 GPA and I don't know about scores.

they've cut back a lot on merit based aid over the last couple years in favor of need based aid
