Bowdoin or Smith for Chemistry or Physics?

From what I gather Bowdoin is stronger in the sciences.Also the students generally have less complaints about their school than the smith students.However smith does benefit from the 5 college consirtium but I do not think Bowdoin limits opportunities as suggested on the Smith thread.

If your daughter truly prefers smith though you can't go wrong since one of the complaints tend to be that the academics are intense and professors think they are geniuses and give more than they can handle which leads to all nighters and neglecting a social life.At least it means she'll be having a good education and your money's worth.Bowdoin though rigorous is said to have a good balance which I prefer but it depends on you daughter.Just my take on it.

Bowdoin has always been very strong in the sciences so it is probably slightly stronger than Smith in the sciences. One thing to keep in mind about Smith, though, is that it recently established an engineering program, which would offer interesting options for a student interested in chemistry and physics . .
