Just be yourself
thats what they are looking for
they want to know who you really are as a person...it is a way to express things that wouldn't be seen in writing.
My advice is just stay calm....and really try to have a cconversation with the interviewer. Try to avoid it just being a question...answer session

tell them about why you are unique, and make them laugh a little. Nothing relaxes a conversation like humor. Best of luck!

i had my alumni interview a couple weeks ago and i felt like it went really well. there were no trick questions or abstract, philosophical ones, it was really just a conversation (it helped that she majored in English, which is what I'm probably going to major in). anyways, just dress nicely and be polite and your nerves will dissipate within the first couple minutes of the interview. good luck!

oregano, IMO an interview can only help you, if you are a good candidate not interviewing will not ruin your chances

Oregano - I agree with Copernicis36 that not doing one should not hurt you but what do you mean that if was impossible for you? They offer alumni interviews. Did they tell you that they could not provide you an interview or did you not request one?

Anyhow, DD had her Bowdoin alumni interview. This was her 6th interview and by far her favorite. She came home raving. I don't know if it was a typical Bowdoin interview but it was not stressful and very positive.

weilly - I trust your interview went well. Your feedback may help others. I know several who went through the process and like smoda61's DD they came back raving. It truly is like a a conversation and represents the attitude of the campus.

Well, they didn't have any alumni anywhere near here actually. It was impossible for me to come visit the college. And by the time I found out that there were no alumni down here, it was too late to do anything about it. i wanted one though

That is unfortunate. Hopefully, they take your efforts to get an interview into consideration.

Interviews (Bowdoin Admissions)

You can request an alumni interview until Jan 1. The above link will provide additional retails and a further link to the alumni interview on-line request form.
